The less pinion angle you can run under full power the more efficient your driveline is, however, if you use less than 1* the bearings in the Ujoints don't spin and won't last.
Im getting ready to install my first set of Caltrac bars and i never thought to ask about pinion angle. On my lift bar setups i ran 5-6 degree's negative so that under wrap up it would be close to zero, but with the Caltracs acting on the
5 is a good starting point, but it depends on power, suspension rigidity, and such. I have always heard the goal is to be at 0° under power, but I have also heard of people like dick miller that put tons of pinion angle in as a way to control bite off the line. He is more of an expert in triangulated four links in A and G body cars.
Location. Kindersley,Saskatchewan, Canada. I have SS 02/03 springs in my Duster race car. Pinion angle is 5* nose down. I have Competition Slide a links. I set the left to zero preload.
